Frozen Honored at the Walt Disney Company’s Headquarters

Disney Animation

The Disney Post, the official blog of the Walt Disney Company, revealed a few days ago that Frozen was honored at the company’s main lot in Burbank, California. The Frozen directors were on hand for the occasion as well as Walt Disney Pictures Chairman Alan Horn and CEO Bob Iger.

During the festivities, an image of Anna and Elsa was displayed above the main entrance to the studio theater. Frozen co-director Chris Buck said during the event:

This honor is incredibly humbling…some of the greatest movies in history were made by Walt Disney and his ‘Nine Old Men.’ The fact that Frozen now has a place on the Studio lot, so close to the Animation building where many of their movies were made, is especially meaningful to me because I started my career there. The classics that were made in that building inspired us while we were creating Frozen, and we all feel very blessed to be a part of the Studio’s rich legacy.

Its good to see Chris pay homage to Walt Disney and the Nine Old Men. If the company really wanted to pay tribute to the animation division, they could kick out all the random production companies that have taken up space in the original animation building and refurbish it to house the current animation crew. That is unrealistic, but it is still a cool thought.

In any case, check out the rest of the post.
